It’s gotten to the point where other countries (the Daily Mail, even) are reporting on how the US just doesn’t seem to care about the staggering number of missing Black women. I don’t know how someone could read this article and not see that we have a deeply rooted, institutional infection of racism in this country.

Honestly, I get tired of hearing this same story, these same facts, every so often. Like a cycle of people being shocked, not even outraged, just, “Wow, that’s a thing!” And then immediately it’s gone from collective consciousness until the next cycle comes around.
Black women in so many cities continuously scream about serial killers running rampant in their communities, about police and local government just abusing and/or killing Black women with impunity. Or CPS taking Black women’s children, never to be heard from again cuz the state is busy turning a profit off the sex abuse and trafficking of children in foster care. It’s like, even our own community doesn’t care. We scream about domestic violence and the shit Black men do to us and no one cares. Random killers start preying on sex workers, trans women, homeless women, and if the body count is high enough it might MIGHT get some attention for a few days. But even then some folks with higher class standing just shrug. Or everybody just shrugs cuz this is how the world is. This is what makes the modern world go round…
But god would you Black women quit taking up so much SPACE and stop SILENCING and POLICING everyone else!
